Holiday in Chiemgau

The Chiemgau is a hilly landscape with numerous meadows, forests and moorland areas as well as numerous lakes - from the 82 square kilometer Chiemsee to smaller forest lakes. The Ice Age around 15,000 years ago shaped the Chiemgau as a foothills of the Alps and moraine landscape. Today the Chiemgau is a cultural landscape with a rural and farming character, full of sights and sporting activities.

Herrenchiemsee Palace

A wonderful day trip: Take the excursion steamer to Herreninsel - can be wonderfully combined with a visit to the neighboring Fraueninsel.

Fraueninsel

The Fraueninsel is a neighboring island of the Herreninsel and is car and bicycle free with a wonderful coexistence of culture, religion and tradition.
